Ep.35 – A Deep and Honest Discussion on Teen Suicide Prevention

Teen suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth aged 10-17 in the US.

Suicide kills more youth than all natural causes combined and has increased 37% in the last ten years.

Suicidal thoughts have serious long-term consequences. To get help immediately, please call the national suicide prevention lifeline at 800-273-8255.

Locally, you can receive help at the Long Island Crisis Center 516-679-1111.

In this episode of Taking Care of Business, two distinguished experts from North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center meet with host Richard Solomon to explore these issues and to provide education and resources for anyone out there who needs help. Thank you to Elissa Smilowitz and Regina Barros-Rivera for your time, knowledge, expertise, and sensitivity. Special thanks to Jenna Kern-Rugile, Director of Communications, North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center for arranging this special program.
